THE 18TH ARRONDISSEMENT WELCOMES ITS FIRST 10K
This Sunday morning, the various neighborhoods of the 18th arrondissement experienced a unique moment with the first edition of the 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE, a new sporting event that brought together 10,000 participants in one of the capital's most iconic settings. Between hidden streets, popular spots, and exceptional views of Paris, participants ran through an authentic, lively, and vibrant district.
AN URBAN COURSE, HILLY AND FULL OF CHARACTER
At 8:15 a.m., runners set off on a unique course combining rolling sections, iconic sites, and typical Montmartre hills. As they ran through the streets of the 18th arrondissement, they enjoyed a total immersion in this iconic neighborhood, carried along by the cheers of residents and the enthusiastic support of local shopkeepers. It was an experience that was athletic, cultural, and deeply Parisian, offering everyone a new perspective on Montmartre.
A FIRST EDITION MARKED BY EXCITING BATTLES
On the sporting front, the event was enlivened by a large number of athletes who came to test themselves on a demanding course. In the men's race, Gabriel Briand won in 31'16'‘, while Lorea Irigaray won the women's race in 36'33’'. Alongside them, thousands of runners—whether aiming for a personal best, their first 10K, or a winter sporting challenge—crossed the finish line with pride, giving the event its unique energy.
A RACE OPEN TO EVERYONE, SPONSORED BY AG2R LA MONDIALE
As the title partner of this first edition, AG2R LA MONDIALE supported the event with the aim of promoting accessible, inclusive sports that foster social ties. The race brought together runners of all levels, reflecting a shared ambition to encourage people to push themselves and promote cohesion.
This ambition has been reflected in particular in the support provided to the Etendart association. Thanks to the commitment of the 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE, 21 young people from the Etendart Running Club took part in the event. This sporting and human adventure will continue until the HOKA Paris Half Marathon on March 8, illustrating the shared desire to democratize running in working-class neighborhoods and promote diversity and inclusion through sport.
AN EVENT THAT COULD BECOME UNMISSABLE
With this successful inaugural edition, the 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE has laid the foundations for an event that is set to become a permanent fixture in the Parisian running scene. Its strong identity, combining heritage, creativity, and neighborhood spirit, the enthusiastic welcome from residents, and the commitment of its partners all point to a bright future for this new winter race. This first edition kicks off the running year with a focus on discovery, sharing, and sporting excitement.
